Michael Hickey:
Michael Hickey is a recording and mix engineer from Queens. Having grown up with a love for rap and hip hop, Michael’s first gig was making beats for a local rap collective. From there, he followed the thread of inspiration from the boom-bap instrumentals of Q-Tip, DJ Premier, and Large Professor to the world of Jazz. In 2018, he started interning at Jazz at Lincoln Center, where he eventually earned his spot as broadcast engineer for some of the biggest acts in Jazz, including Ron Carter, Chic Correa, Lenny White, and Chris Potter. That experience led to a call from Power Station, where he’s been assisting and engineering on staff since 2021. At Power Station, Michael has engineered a wide array of projects such as blockbuster movies, broadway cast recordings, hardcore/punk bands, classical, renaissance music, and, of course, jazz. In 2025, he won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album.
